Founder’s Heritage

Welcome to the Founder’s Heritage

Making a planned gift is a wonderful way to ensure that your legacy continues to support future generations of young people in World Scouting, while accommodating your own personal, financial, estate-planning and philanthropic goals.

Your foresight will allow us to plan ahead, giving us the confidence to support more long-term projects and ensure the maximum impact of your donation. Your contribution will allow us to invest in even more young people worldwide, so they have the opportunity to participate in Scouting and lead lasting change in their local communities for generations to come – thank you!

Our promise to you

Upon pledging a gift to the Founder’s Heritage, the planned giving programme of the World Scout Foundation, we would be proud to honour your contribution in the following ways:

  • Credit 50% of your planned contribution to your current Membership Level.
  • Personal recognition from the CEO of the World Scout Foundation.
  • Distinguished acknowledgement as a Member of the Founder’s Heritage in our annual Membership list.
  • A testimonial feature in our member publications (as per personal wish).
  • Personal communication from the CEO and Chair of the Foundation Board to your family members when you have “gone home”.
  • A memorial gift of a seedling to be planted in your name in the virtual forest of Europe’s largest, voluntary reforestation project Boranka

There are many ways to share your legacy with Scouts around the world. Here are just a few:

  • A financial bequest made in a will or living trust
  • A deferred gift of personal property or real estate
  • Giving through a life insurance policy
  • Donating through a retirement plan (IRA or similar)

Whatever your preference, a planned gift to the World Scout Foundation will make a lasting impact. No matter how large or small. It will enable young people to gain the skills and knowledge to develop as active citizens who are empowered to drive meaningful positive change in their communities, worldwide.

Some tips to prepare your planned gift

1. Gather information on your assets, including retirement funds
2. Consider the people and organisations that matter most to you
3. Appoint a trustee and if possible, set up a meeting with an estate planning professional
4. Prepare or amend you last will and testament
5. Talk with your loved one about your decisions
6. After planning your gift, kindly let us know!

On behalf of 57 million Scouts worldwide, thank you for your foresight and for your generosity to World Scouting!
