Providing advanced leadership training to young Scouting leaders from around the world recognising the need to develop leaders for the future of Scouting and the world.
Leadership, Citizenship, Values - The Scouting Way
As 'Adams Scholars', young people who have achieved the highest rank of their National Scout Organisation (Queen Scout, President Scout, Springbok Scout, etc.) are invited to attend the premier adult leadership course offered by the Boy Scouts of America at locations around the United States, including:
- Philmont Scout Range
- Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve
- Florida National High Adventure Sea Base
- Elite BSA local council camps around the country
After completing this leadership course, you will be equipped to incorporate similar training within your NSO, perpetuating a worldwide collaboration of training with cutting-edge delivery methods.
A Message from Glenn AdamsMelinda and I have been lifelong supporters of Scouting because we have seen firsthand the impact it has had on our family. As a youth, Scouting taught me valuable leadership and life lessons through fun and adventure and these lessons would become central to my person. Our son Andrew found his passion and future profession as a Meteorologist through completing the Weather merit badge as a Boy Scout. Our daughter Lauren became a professional with Scouting, serving as a district executive with the Heart of America Council in Kansas City. The influence Scouting has had over our family is evident: We live our lives according to the Scout Oath and Scout Law, leveraging our blessings to “help other people at all times.”
We have supported Scouting in many ways, including my service as National Eagle Scout Association and Longhorn Council president, endowing NESA scholarships, and supporting BSA high-adventure bases. We chose to make the single largest charitable gift of our lives in the form of the Melinda and Glenn Adams World Scouting Leadership Fund because we know its world-wide impact will cause ripples that will be felt for generations.
The Melinda and Glenn Adams World Scouting Leadership Fund will train, empower, and measure the progress of hand-selected future leaders from countries around the world who continually exhibit selfless service to those in need. These Adams Scholars will help spread the message of peace and service that has been a hallmark of Scouting for over a century.
